Santiago is a paradise for outdoor lovers, surrounded by hundreds of scenic summits perfect for year-round trekking. Just 40 minutes from Providencia, this challenging day hike takes you to Alto del Naranjo, one of the highest peaks near the city at 6,200 feet (1,890 m). 

As you ascend through Chile’s native sclerophyllous forest, you'll be immersed in Andean nature with panoramic views of Mount El Plomo (18,000 feet) and the impressive Iver Glacier. From the summit, enjoy spectacular views of Santiago and the towering Central Andes.

Requirements: 

Participants must be between 14 and 65 years old. Physical and medical conditions must be compatible with this activity (please ask if in doubt).


Itinerary: 

Please note that times are approximate.

8:00 AM: Meeting point at your hotel or designated location (exact time will be confirmed by email). 8:40 AM: Start the hike, gaining altitude with each step.

9:40 AM: The trail follows a ridge with excellent views to the east and west.

11:10 AM: Reach the summit; enjoy breathtaking views of the Andes, including Mount El Plomo.

11:30 AM: Begin the descent.

1:00 PM: Return to the starting point.

1:40 PM: Arrive back at your hotel.
