Andes Foothills Horse Riding - Half Day - Easy



At just 30 minutes from Santiago downtown, enjoy a gorgeous landscape on a horseback riding trip!

We will explore the Andean Foothills of Carpa Mount with amazing views of the city and other nice peaks of the Andes Range.

This trip starts at a private farm located in a nice native forest at the foothills of the Andes. This Chilean horses will be prepared for you with Chilean saddles, they are easy-going and used to walk on these trails. We will ride for around 1,5 hours up gaining breath-taking views. We will make a nice appetizer in our break before the descent.

Also, you can add a cheese and wine table at the stables for 30 USD per person

You will enjoy amazing scenery and you will be surrounded by very beautiful mountains (in winter covered by snow) also you will have the opportunity to share with the arrieros (the Chilean cowboy) and live the Arriero culture.

Highlights: 20 minutes from Santiago / great Andean views / opportunity to have a Chilean bbq in the farm with nice views / reach 2000 meters altitude

Horseback riding time

1.5 hours of ascent and 1.5 hour descent plus 30 to 45 minutes of break at lookout.


Transportation time

20 minute by car from Providencia, Santiago to the beginning of the path.


Season

Year round. In winter the trip could be shorter due to snow in the higher part of the mount.


Requirements

Age of participants must be between 14 and 75 years old. Physical and medical condition must be compatible with activity (When in doubt, please ask).


Itinerary

The following schedule is approximate and may vary based on weather conditions and your group’s pace. A more precise pick-up time will be provided after confirming your pick-up address during the booking process.

  • 9:00 AM: Pick-up at your hotel or meeting point.
  • 9:30 AM: Arrival at the stables. We'll provide a brief safety introduction to the trail and basic horse-riding techniques, followed by stirrup adjustments for your comfort.
  • 10:00 AM: Begin the adventure, ascending through a forest of native trees.
  • 11:00 AM: Cross to the other side of the ridge, revealing breathtaking new mountain views.
  • 11:30 AM: Arrive at the lookout point. Take a break and enjoy the scenery.
  • 12:00 PM: Start the descent back to the farm.
  • 1:30 PM: Return to the farm. Optional: Enjoy a cheese and wine tasting.
  • 2:00 PM: Drop-off at your hotel
