3 days of kayaking in Pumalin Park Fjords along Comau, Quintupeu and Cahuelmó Fjords

Day 1: 1.5 hour of paddling + 3 hours of hiking round trip Day 2: 1.5 hour of paddling


Transportation time

2,5 hours of transportation on the car from Santiago to the beginning of the path.


Technical data

Day 1: Kayaking: 4.3 km / 6.5 miles Hiking :11 km round trip / Ramp: 260 meters / Top of the path: 2.800 meters. Day 2: Kayaking: 4.3 km / 6.5 miles


Season

Summer activity: from November to March.


Requirements

Age of participants must be between 14 and 70 years old. Physical and medical condition must be compatible with activity (When in doubt, please ask). Know how to swim (When in doubt, please ask). Doesn´t require previous kayak experience.


Itinerary

The schedule below is just an idea of the timings of each day. The hours could change depending on the weather and speed of the group.

Day 0: The breef

A welcome meeting in the hotel prior to departure day, where we will talk about the trip logistics explaining the route with Google Earth, equipment involved, tasks, and answer all kind of questions you may have.

Day 1: Working with others in a natural enviroment

From Puerto Varas we will take the beautiful and wild Route 7 crossing rivers and dense forest to Cholgo Village where we will set the equipment.

Then we will start our wonderful trip to Quintupeu Fjord crossing emerald waters and enjoying the amazing pristine forest and wildlife.

Day 2: Taking decisions as a team

We will wake up like castaways in an amazing beach surrounded by millennial forest and enjoying the sunrise with a nice breakfast. This day we will paddle from Quintupeu Fjord to Cahuelmó Hot springs. Probably we’ll find some dolphins and sea lions on our way. At the end of the day, we will move to a Pioneers Farm where we will enjoy a lamb on stick, Chilean wine and a bond fire on the beach.


Warning: This activity could include hiking in irregular terrain, paddle in choppy waters, driving by land roads, sudden changes of weather, walk or paddle under strong sun.
